HookUp 2006.

Its hard to imagine HookUp 2006 has come and gone.
This competition has established itself as the major reef and estuary fishing event to be held on the east coast of Australia. The Hook Up incorporates a growing marine show, entertainment and displays of every fishing accessary and aid imaginable with the final weigh in on the Sunday afternoon. This prestigious fishing event is now one of the most enjoyable and entertaining family fun weekends.

Although the weather was not as kind to the participants this year, the rollup was as good as ever and the prise pool bigger than previous years with this desirable fishing, family boat being the Sunday nights ticket holders prise.

Friday morning  the 9th June.
As with previous years, Friday morning found Bray Park a hive of activity setting up the venue for the weekends entertainment. The weather at first looked as great as ever, a typical Queensland winters day.
'Great one day and just plain perfect the next!'

Friday: Getting under way.
Although a little on the windy side and overcast at time it didn't seem to bother many of the keen contestants getting their boats into the water and out to sea chasing the big ones as early as four am. Work, well for many of the local Boyne - Tannum participants that is something you do when you have time. Those who came from near and far arriving early in the week it was more a contest in obtaining a parking spot which was soon to become standing room only.
