Kroombit Tops forestry and National Park cover an area of some 34,400 hectares and rise almost vertically in areas 800 meters from the coastal plain. This densely forested, rugged sandstone plateau is scarred with high ridges and deep gorges.
Situated approximately 85 Km. West of Boyne Island, it is a perfect full day trip for those who enjoy the natural beauty of wilderness areas. With panoramic views to be enjoyed from the eastern escarpment lookout over the foot hills toward the coast, to deep pockets of rainforest.
The road up to Kroombit Tops although not sealed is well maintained and accessible to all vehicles up to the escarpment lookout, the road only being closed after heavy rain periods.
